We are first and foremost a Christian site, dedicated to spreading the love and Gospel of Christ. Particularly in our current times, every field of thought has become a battlefield for the Christian. Even Horror. Horror ought to reflect the reality that we know as Christians. Reality is a battle between good and evil. Evil is real. Satan is real. We will not be duped into thinking our adversary is merely a "social construct" or a myth. Nor is evil merely chaos and nothingness.
While "Christian Horror" may seem like a new subgenre, it is not. The Morality Plays of the medieval period are the forebears of this genre. In fact, many of the classical writers specialized in Christian Horror. Take Dante's Inferno, for example, or even Milton's Paradise Lost. There was a time when all of the early horror novels -- the Gothic period, for example -- were explicitly Christian.
It is time that Christians reclaimed this genre. It is absolutely necessary that Christians teach the world the face of true horror, inasmuch as Christians must bear the face of true love.
